Tue, 18 Nov 2008 22:36:49 PST- The Ducks are making it clear they wish they were playing this week instead of sitting, resting and looking ahead on a second bye week of the season.
The coaches may not feel that way.
"We need to rest up," Oregon Football coach Mike Bellotti said at the start of a rest period leading up to the annual Civil War game against archrival Oregon Football State at Corvallis.
The Ducks have won two straight to go to 8-3, but Bellotti said, "The momentum is one thing, the physical bumps and bruises are the other. After you get two wins in a row, there is a certain amount of confidence and momentum. But right now this team will take a couple of days off to rest and recover." And this weekend, they will watch as Oregon Football State attempts to win at Arizona and make the Civil War a highly...

Wed, 19 Nov 2008 05:00:58 GMT- --An interesting bit of stat work in the Eugene Register-Guard pointed to the Oregon Football defense being on the field for more snaps this season than any team in the country. It also had the offense last in time of possession (24:56 per game), two real signs the defense hasn't been able to get off the field.
--The Ducks have eight wins and a 2-0 finish would produce the fourth 10-win season in the history of the program.
--Oregon Football has won four of its last five games.
Wed, 19 Nov 2008 05:00:58 GMT- LOOKING GOOD: Oregon Football quarterback Jeremiah Masoli had a huge "coming out party" in the win over Arizona. He ran for three touchdowns, passes for two more and was Pac-10 offensive player of the week. The offense belongs to him, and it could be his show for two more seasons.
K Morgan Flint -- You have to love a walk-on who comes in late in the season and wins the job. He had field goals of 23 and 39 yards and was perfect on seven extra points in the win over Arizona.
